Electric Drive Units
I led the mechanical design of the original Model 3 Front and Rear Drive Units, integrating structures, geartrains, motors, cooling and power electronics into a small and light package that revolutionized how EV power units are built. This experience came off the back of key roles played in the development of Model S/X drive unit structures. I gained an immense amount of eexpertise designing castings and forgings that were essential to a lightweight, high performance product.
I designed the Model 3 Front and Rear Subframes. These are stamped steel structures welded together that integrate drive units, suspension members, low voltage and high voltage architecture. They are crucial components to the safety, handling and acoustic performance of the vehicle.

Automation Equipment
I led the development of a fully automated suspension alignment system for Model 3. This was a ground up tool that brought together mechanical design, automation development, control systems and suspension design. There were no other systems like it at the time and was the most complex and successful piece of automation equipment built during Tesla’s Model 3 launch.
